The tadpole tries to take its start,
While Lotus Flower floats along.
The early birds will run and dart—
As blackbird hums its morning song.

The geese that look suspiciously,
And make courageous men retreat.
The beavers that we never see—
Damn! A cold June; we’d hope for Heat.

Nobody Cares

Conservative Christians scared of Critical Race Theory
Thinking that history can be erased, clearly
Dismissing Black Lives Matter with no empathy
Not realizing that white supremacy is its own enemy

There’s never enough hatred—so it appears
The best way for peace—it’s truly sowing your fears
Black folk murdered—yet you so in your tiers
Put yourself in our shoes—but nobody cares.

Brightness Far

Late nights, dark times.
The day has died.
The sun has shone
Another side.

That brightness far
Leaves us in fear.
No single star
At sundown here.

But nature’s game
Is not like man’s.
I gain something—
You lose your chance?

But my progress
Is not your loss.
And my sunrise
Is not your cost.

Hiring managers hopin’ for some tokenism
Like Tolkien, I Stan’d alone in this broken system
Treat me like the plague yet they ain’t even social distance
Never put me in a corner, I always go the distance
Opposite day’s the only time that you know I’m quittin’
I got a focused mission, and I’m not about to fail
I’m like Daredevil in the kitchen give ‘em hell
That’s to anyone who thinks that my people won’t excel
